LIZ
BRUCE has been involved in theater and entertainment all of her
life. She started teaching dance at the age of thirteen which gave
her a good start as a dancer and choreographer. Liz was voted Best
Dancer in her class when she graduated from Emerson College
with a B. A. in Theater Education and a minor in Speech.
She went on to teach high school speech and drama.
Acting (see resume below), directing (see resume below) and producing skills learned at Emerson were well utilized by Ms. Bruce. She started directing musicals and dramas when she was 19 and freelanced as an actress, director, teacher and choreographer for several years before opening a performing arts school which grew to have 250 students. She established Libra Productions, a theater company which toured throughout New England presenting musicals and comedies. Libra Productions were at the Parker House, Sheraton Bedford Dinner Theater, Chanticleer Dinner Theater, The Holiday Inn Dinner Theater, The Ramada Inn Smorgasbord Theater as well as at numerous private functions and conventions. Her biography appears in the prestigious Outstanding Young Women of America for contributions in her field.
As an actress, Liz has appeared in such diverse roles as Kate in Brighton Beach Memoirs, Agnes Gooch in Mame and Miss Furnival in Black Comedy which brought her the Best Supporting Actress Award at the New England Theater Conference Festival. Ms. Bruce also has been honored with the Best Director Award at the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theater Festival and was an EMACT consultant for three years. Liz now offers workshops and individual coaching in theater and speech.
